Íò²©¹ÙÍø journalism and mass communication junior Asia Burns of Alpharetta, Georgia, has earned the Gary Yoshimura Scholarship.

Each year, only one U.S. student is chosen for the Yoshimura Scholarship, which provides funding for the student’s education.

“Receiving this honor is an incredibly humbling experience,” Burns said. “Being granted such a prestigious award, and receiving so many congratulations as a result, is very overwhelming.”

Burns, who is concentrating in the fields of public relations and print journalism, is president of Íò²©¹ÙÍø’s PRSSA chapter and serves as editor-in-chief of the Íò²©¹ÙÍø Crimson. This summer, she completed an internship with the newspaper.
