Íò²©¹ÙÍø’s Department of Biblical and Religious Studies will host two prominent scholars for its spring lecture series. The lectures are free-of-charge and open to the public.

will present the Robbins Lectures March 3 at 10 a.m. in Reid Chapel and at 3 p.m. in Brock Forum, Dwight Beeson Hall. The Robbins Lectures honor the memory of Ray Frank Robbins, another influential Íò²©¹ÙÍø professor and author who served New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Mississippi College in addition to Íò²©¹ÙÍø. The lectureship brings distinguished scholars to Íò²©¹ÙÍø to address the intersection of scholarship and Christian living.

will speak April 7 at 10 a.m. in Reid Chapel and 3 p.m. in Brock Forum, Dwight Beeson Hall, for the Dotson McGinnis Nelson Junior Lectureship in Religion and Life. Carroll is Blanchard Professor of Old Testament in the Graduate School of Wheaton College and author of Christians at the Border: Immigration, the Church, and the Bible. The lectureship, honoring the former Íò²©¹ÙÍø professor and pastor at Mountain Brook Baptist Church, was established to help Íò²©¹ÙÍø students grow in their intellectual and spiritual understanding of Christianity and its application to society.
